Self-Sabotage Coaching: Stop Tripping Yourself Before Life Does
You know what you want. You even know the first step. Then a perfectly reasonable-looking excuse walks into your head wearing a business suit. You delay, overthink, start again, blame yourself and repeat. Welcome to self-sabotage, where your inner critic somehow got promoted to management.
I’m Steve Alley, a Belgium-based quantum coach and hypnotherapist. I offer online sessions for adults who want to understand the beliefs, fears and automatic responses behind their choices. We work in English, French or Dutch.
What changes in coaching?
First, we identify one repeating situation, such as procrastinating before a job application, agreeing when you want to say no, or abandoning a goal after early progress. Then we explore the trigger, the protective story and the behaviour. We practise a different response in a realistic setting. The focus is behaviour and perspective, not shame.
My coaching uses conversations, NLP-informed exercises, reframing and, where suitable, hypnosis-informed reflection. I refer to my tailored approach as Quantum Core Reset™. It’s a coaching framework, not a promise to reprogram the brain through quantum physics.
Everyday example: the email you never send
You have drafted an important email twelve times because somebody might judge you. In coaching, we explore what ‘being judged’ means to you and what you do to avoid the discomfort. Your experiment might be to send a simple, respectful version of the email after one review, rather than waiting for impossible certainty.
Try the five-minute interruption
When you notice avoidance, write: ‘I am about to avoid…’, ‘I am afraid…’, and ‘The smallest useful step is…’. Set five minutes for that step. You are not trying to win the entire war before lunch. You’re interrupting the usual loop long enough to practise a new move.
For whom is this work suitable?
For adults interested in confidence, self-worth, boundaries, decision-making or unhelpful habits. Sessions are online, from Belgium to clients worldwide. If symptoms suggest a mental health condition, a licensed professional should assess your needs. Coaching isn’t diagnosis or treatment.
Frequently asked questions
Is self-sabotage always caused by childhood trauma?
No. Similar behaviours have different explanations. We don’t presume a single cause or force a trauma story onto your experience.
Do you guarantee a breakthrough?
No. We agree on goals, practise approaches and review what works in your life. Results vary by person and situation.
How do I begin?
Tell me what keeps repeating and what you want to change. We’ll discuss whether online coaching is a good fit.
